Altadena Historical Society

Collection includes: Maps (1849-present). Historical maps of Altadena, Pasadena, the San Gabriel Valley area, and Los Angeles. Political maps, Angeles National Forest maps, maps of local mountain ranges, charts and schematics of the Mt. Lowe Railroad, U.S. Geological Survey maps.

Los Angeles Contemporary Archives (LACA)

LACA's artist book library contains more than 15,000 small edition artist books by Los Angeles based artists. Rather than archivists and art historians alone determining the narratives around these items, contributing artists generate descriptions and indexed in first person or narrative form.  LACA also has two ongoing archival collections: 

City of Calabasas Library

The City of Calabasas Library's Special Collections concentrates on the city of Calabasas and adjoining communities. The collection also includes recently gifted 375 government maps, mostly USGS and almost all of Southern California 

Friends of Rockhaven

The collection includes photographs of the Rockhaven Sanitarium property as well as some of the residents and employees from over the decades. Also includes written memories from people who worked there or had relatives cared for at the Sanitarium.

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Library & Archives

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California manages a library and archival repository documenting the activities of the organization and resources of interest to the greater history of the Los Angeles region. 

Polytechnic School Archives

The Polytechnic School Archives document a microcosm of a private school's activities for the past 100+ years relating, for instance, school life during WWI and WWII, the Cold War, etc., and the 1918 flu pandemic. The collection includes 60 file drawers, 30 shelves, and 50+ boxes of records. In many ways the collections relate to historical LA and Southern California.  

El Alisal--The Charles F. Lummis Home

Westchester/Playa Historical Society

Collection scope includes the history of The Westchester, Playa del Rey and Playa Vista communities. Archives include photographs. videos, artists paintings, oral histories, newspaper clippings, school yearbooks, local chamber of commerce files. Organization has rotating exhibits every 2 months featuring what makes the community a special place to live.

Quinn Research Center

The Quinn Research Center contains materials related to the history of African Americans in the Santa Monica, Venice and Bay Area from the 1900s to the present. In it are newspaper articles, one of a kind magazines and newspapers published in Santa Monica during the 1940s, oral histories, and photographs.
