Denison Library’s Special Collections are extensive and varied, ranging from classical literature to Californiana. They include the Scripps College Archives, which provide a significant record for the study of the college since its inception in 1926 and for the history of women’s education in general.

East Los Streetscapers

East Los Streetscapers was founded in 1975 by Wayne Alaniz Healy and David Rivas Botello, both veterans of the East Los Angeles mural movement. Among the public art projects produced by this team are paintings, tiles, bas-reliefs, and sculptures in a wide variety of materials. USC began its film program in 1929 and we house all the produced student films as well as Educational and Hollywood films dating back to the 1910's. Individual collections include unique production documents and ephemera, including photographs, set design art, legal documents. Southern California Genealogical Society

The SCGS Library holds nearly 40,000 volumes, with a relatively small portion of the material related to LA. We have published indices to cemetery records, vital (birth, death and marriage) records, and immigration and naturalization. We provide free access to some data on our website.
