Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“Metro”) wins an Emmy!

It was announced on Saturday, July 26 that the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“Metro”) won an Emmy in the public programming category for the Metro Motion show on Union Station’s 75th Anniversary.  The 30-minute episode aired just prior to the Union Station anniversary celebration on May 3, 2014: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-3xS8G6sfQ.

Metro Media Relations staff accepted the award on behalf of the agency.  The show contains interviews with many key players in the Union Station story.  Metro staff as well as numerous resources and extensive research from the Metro Dorothy Peyton Gray Transportation Library contributed to the show’s success.

Metro Motion is co-produced with Santa Monica City TV and runs quarterly on 80 cable stations throughout Los Angeles County and on metro.net. The Union Station 75th Anniversary was covered by every major TV outlet in the region.
