“Ann Dvorak: Hollywood’s Forgotten Rebel” Official Book Launch Party

Date: Tuesday, November 12
Time: 6:00PM - 8:00PM
Location: Los Angeles Public Library, Central Branch
Meeting Room A
630 W. 5th Street
Los Angeles, CA 90071

Join LAPL's own Christina Rice (Senior Librarian Photo Collection) in celebrating the release of her long anticipated book, Ann Dvorak: Hollywood's Forgotten Rebel, from the University Press of Kentucky. This biography of one of the film industry's most interesting, but overlooked actresses of the 1930s/40s is the culmination of over fifteen years of research, much of which was conducted at Central Library.

The celebration will include foods prepared from "authentic" Ann Dvorak recipes, along with a display of vintage movie memorabilia from Ann Dvorak films and some of her personal effects. Former actress Mary Carlisle, who knew Ann when they were chorus girls at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio, will be a special guest (schedule permitting). Copies of Ann Dvorak: Hollywood's Forgotten Rebel will be available for purchase and personally signed by the author.

Reservations not required.
