Grand Opening and Dedication Ceremony of the Aiso Street Parking Garage (corner of First St. and Aiso St. in Little Tokyo) on Friday, February 24th at 12 noon. This multi-faceted dedication event is sponsored by
Councilmember Jan Perry of the City of Los Angeles, the Little Tokyo Community Council, the Little Tokyo Historical Society, and the Union Church of Los Angeles.

Councilwoman Perry will dedicate the opening of the Aiso Street Parking Garage, a $22 million facility with 300 parking spaces aimed at providing low-cost parking for visitors to Little Tokyo. Bill Watanabe of behalf of the Little Tokyo Historical Society and members of the Union Church will dedicate the Plaza in memory of Rev. Howard Toriumi - the longtime pastor of Union Church who also spearheaded the redevelopment of Little Tokyo and sponsored numerous community-service programs. Mike Okamoto (President of the Little Tokyo Community Council) and Bill will dedicate the Nikkei Historic Marker which was placed on the site about 4 months ago which commemorates the history of the settling of Little Tokyo before, during and
after WWII.
