L.A. as Subject is pleased to announce a new collaboration with KCET.
A new blog, SoCal Focus, on the public television station's website complements the station's coverage of local news, events, and issues. KCET has invited L.A. as Subject to contribute weekly posts that illustrate how the archives of Southern California's cultural institutions and private collectors inform perspectives on L.A.'s history, current events, and future.
L.A. as Subject's inaugural post, "Roses, Oranges, and the Amazing Summerland", is now live on the KCET website. The post, about the history of Southern California boosterism, features images from the collections of several member institutions, including the Braun Research Library at the Autry National Center, the David Boulé Collection, the Los Angeles Public Library, the Urban Archives Center at CSUN's Oviatt Library, and the USC Digital Library.
Check the KCET website, as well as the L.A. as Subject homepage, regularly for more from this new collaboration.

Regarding future topics for the KCET blog, the Center for the Study of Political Graphics has many artists and artists’ collectives work in the archive. Thank you.
